NEW THIS YEAR!
We are asking all families to do their best to provide their children with a separate set of shoes for gym (physical education classes). These should be something other than hard-soled (boots or otherwise) shoes that can be used exclusively for gym. This will help with the constant wear and tear on our gym floor and keep it looking and functioning well year round! These can be new or used shoes as long as they are clean and won't cause additional wear to our gym floor. Students will still be able to participate without shoes as well. Struggling with access to gym shoes? Reach out to Mr. Hanson at the school.

On August 8th two Wilmot students went to Valley View Country Club and golfed in the Elmer Thompson youth tournament. Rhyanna placed 1st and Annicka placed 2nd in their age group! Way to go girls!

Congratulations to Wilmot School Sophomore Tyler Heinje on being selected as a SD VFW Baseball All Star!

The State Track & Field meet took place May 23rd-25th. After COVID, the state changed how athletes qualify. In order to qualify, you have to be in the top 24 times or distances. This year, Wilmot had 5 athletes qualify in 8 events. Addison Heinje qualified 9th in 100 m hurdles. Keitrick Genia qualified 24th in 100m dash. Ethan Schwenn qualified 22nd in the 400m dash and 23rd in the 800 m dash. Kolby Haubris and Keitrick Genia qualified 14th & 20th in high jump. And, two relay teams consisting of Keitrick Genia, Jaxen Dockter, Ethan Schwenn, and Kolby Haubris qualified 23rd in 800m relay and 19th in the Medley Relay.
It was a great first year back as the Wilmot WOLVES. Having 8 state qualifiers proves just that! I couldn't be more proud of the time, effort, and versatility these athletes showed!
On Thursday:
Addison went in with 16.62 PR for 100m Hurdles and ran 16.71 landing her 12th place.
Keitrick went in with a 11.75 PR for 100m dash and ran a new PR of 11.63 and finished 19th
The Medley team went in with a 3:53.28 PR and ran a new PR of 3:49.57 landing them in medaling place of 8th. These 4 boys only ever ran that race 3 times together!
On Friday:
Ethan Schwenn went into the 400m dash with a 0:53.98 PR and ran a 0:55.12 landing him in 21st place.
Ethan Schwenn went into the 800m dash with a 2:08.19 PR and ran a 2:09.67 landing him in 14th place.
The boys 800 m relay went in with a 1:37.24 PR and ran a 1:37.51 landing them in 13th place.
Kolby went into high jump with a 5'11 PR and jumped 5'8 landing him tied in 12th place with 5 others.
Keitrick went into high jump with a jump of 5'10" PR and was not able to clear beginning height.
