First of all thank you to all who have helped provide all of our students with free seconds by purchasing seconds cards. Unfortunately we are very close to our current supply of seconds cards running out, it probably will not last through the end of the week. So as soon as tomorrow if your child wants seconds at lunch he/she will have to have a seconds card. They cost $10 and will get you about 6 seconds or if you want to pay each time it will cost $1.50.

Fourth Grade tried for the first time the state dessert, Kuchen. Students thought it tasted a lot like a cheesecake only thicker.

Thanks to all the purchases at the Book Fair in October, we were able to get 87 new books for our library!

This evening we have basketball at home and away! At home, our girls invite Hankinson for a couple matchups- due to some health concerns and smaller numbers, the JV game will only be three quarters this evening. They will start at 6:15pm. Students in Mrs. Kirchmeier’s chemistry class have been learning about the combined gas law. One experiment they did was seeing how a quick temperature change from hot to cold made soda cans implode. The empty cans were filled with a little bit of water and set on the stove to boil. When the water boils, the can fills with water vapor. When the can is then immersed in the ice water, the water vapor cools down and condenses into water droplets. This leads to a void inside the can and the air outside can compress it without resistance.

UPDATE: SOLD!!! Last semester the Ag Structures class built this 8’ x 12’ storage shed with 3’ access door. Has single wall construction, painted with one coat of paint and asphalt shingles. Anyone interested can contact Mr.Locke at the Wilmot School. Will help with loading. Selling for $2000.  We sincerely appreciate the communities support to make these hands on projects possible!!

This morning we kicked off a new event called "Books and Braids!" Some of our older girls meet with elementary students to read to them while doing their hair! Thanks to Mrs. Schwenn and Mrs. Cameron for the idea and making it happen!

Wilmot School will be opening 2 hours late Tuesday, January 21. There will be no preschool or breakfast.

Something new will be taking "center stage" tonight at the ball games!

Mr. Hanson hit a deer last night so we turned that into an opportunity today! Mr. Madsen and Mr. Locke used the heart as a learning tool in their science classes! Mr. Madsen opened it up to explore the different components and then students gave a try at seeing it up.

All elementary students should have a form for cheer camp coming home this week! This will be held during the week of February 3rd and conclude with a performance at one of the home basketball games! Please turn those forms in ASAP!
